A Friend Of Indianapolis

The Colts Newsletter has a report on one of the best friends that the City of Indianapolis has:

Irsay on CIB: A deal is a deal
Colts owner doesn't want to renegotiate his lease on Lucas Oil Stadium

Say it ain't so, Batman! After we worked so hard to get him that sweet deal, now that when it looks like the taxpayers are going to have to pony (excuse the pun!) up the money to keep the Lucre Oil Stadium going ol' Jimmy sez a deal is a deal and doesn't want to help out.

I suspect he meant 'swine flu' but I like the notion of swing flu. I got it!

Quote of the Day

Much better than watching Star Wars, with it's [sic] Viet Cong Ewoks.
--Anonymous commenting on watching School House Rock in Tam's post Rightwing Terrorism.

Reminds me of a story I heard somewhere of some kid saying his G.I. Joe was the one who destroyed his sister's Barbie dollhouse because, "Barbie was sleepin' with the Cong."

I guess I know where this may put Princess Leia there on Endor.

I should probably be clearer here. If you're not a liberal or leftist speaker, you'll need one. Free speech not welcome here.

EeePC? Bag it!

A couple of weeks ago I purchased an Asus Eee PC 1000HE for Mrs. Shomes and another one for me. We are not alone.

Where mine sits in its little sleeve inside a cheap laptop bag, Mrs. Shomes, being the seamstress that she is, made a nice little custom padded bag for the Eee PC and its accessories:

I advised that what with everyone getting one of these excellent little netbooks, she should start making custom EeeBags!

The Government Looks For Extremists - And They Are Us

Michelle Malkin examines a report from the Department of Homeland Security entitled, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." Are they focusing on particular, named, kooky fringe groups out there waiting for the black helicopters to land? Nope, they're looking at people who are ". . . antagonistic toward the new presidential administration and its perceived stance on a range of issues." What are these issues? stuff like:

  • Immigration
  • Restrictions on firearms ownership and use
  • Loss of U.S. jobs in manufacturing and construction
  • Home foreclosures

According to the DHS report Rightwing extremists also, "chatter on the Internet" about these issues.

If you're reading this I guess you're visiting an anti-government Rightwing Extremist web site. And you know, in some ways I'm quite comfortable being identified as an antagonist of Obama's government.

MSM Hypocrisy: Staging Troop Shoot

For our Main Stream Media (Obama's PR Team) staged troop shoots are now good. Even a hint of something like that pre-Obama was HORRIBLE/TERRIBLE/SCANDALOUS! Flopping Aces shines the light.

Wait! Wait! Wait! Our campus is a gun-free zone! Didn't the robber read our policies?

And we can't possess a firearm to protect ourselves. It's unnecessary as the police are there to do that!*

*Despite the likelihood that they'll wait until the shooting is over and it's safe before coming to see if you're still alive.

David Codrea does an excellent job of exposing the lies that are being spread about guns from the US being smuggled to Mexico. It's just not true!

Quote of the Day

"I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes . . . . you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime."
-- Barack Hussein Obama, Sept. 12, 2008

Today the tobacco tax was raised. Tax on cigarettes went up nearly 62 cents a pack to $1.01, a 258% increase. Roll your own? Bulk tobacco taxes went from $1.0969 per pound to $24.78 per pound, a rise of 2259%. And this was for everyone, not just those making more than $250,00.

Liar.
