Fascism LGBT Style

'Duck Dynasty's' Phil Robertson on Indefinite Hiatus Following Anti-Gay Remarks

Typical. Say your mind based on your core beliefs. If the Left doesn't agree with it, you need to be shut up and shut down. Now I've never watched the show. Don't plan on it. BUT in any case, I would think the producers would have a little sense and say, "Hey, this guy says stuff that reflects the thoughts of a slice of the American people with whom we disagree. But every time he says something like this, we have the opportunity to bring the issue to the center of the discussion. Let's keep him on!" But nope. That would mean they respect your ability to think for yourself.

Shouldn't Happen To A Dog

I just finished reading another warm holiday story, this one about the cops shooting a dog in the owner's yard while the cops were searching for fugitives in the vicinity.

I can only draw from the large number of such incidents that this is somewhere in the police general policies and procedures: 'Dogs need to be shot. If you're out on a call, and there's a dog nearby, shoot it. This particularly pertains to raids or even visits to the wrong address.'

We can be grateful that they only use the taser on the mentally challanged, old women, and children. So far.

Government Control Of Technology

I saw this over on Facebook:

And commented:

Exactly! No one needs a vehicle that can go more than 55 mph. I think the Government should expand its powers beyond controlling the technology allowed for firearms (e.g. 30 round magazines) to ALL technology. You don't need a hard drive larger that 200Gb. Large hard drives should be outlawed. You'll just use the extra space to store pirated videos and music. And likely porn, too!

New Informant

Added to my informants:

Taking Sense Away

"Confessions of a Former TSA Screener. Views and opinions do not necessarily represent those of the TSA. Obviously."

One of my favorite observations:

"I’ve known a few screeners who went from TSA on to the FBI, and who assured me that they pretty much have to do their best to hide their previous employer from their new FBI buddies in much the same way that a child molester tries to hide his crime from prison mates. "

New York Times -hearts- Big Government

A Big Storm Requires Big Government

Bullshit. In situations like this I'd prefer the Armed Services to use their abilities of organization and deployment. And least we can turn them off until we need them again. You can can't turn off Big Government.

You don't need a weather man. . .

I've got a bad feeling about this:

House bill extends TSA intel sharing to mass transit

For one thing, it means the tick is burrowing in and it'll be harder to remove it. But apparently we don't need to worry about the TSA showing up at our local bus stop:

Transit riders probably won't see more TSA agents in subways or bus stops, though, Speier said. The expanded TSA role falls more on analysts, [Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), the bill's sponsor] said.
Hey, my pant leg is wet. It must be raining.

Remaking Red Dawn

The other day on facebook a friend (of a liberal persuasion) was bemoaning the remaking of Red Dawn with the enemy now being the Chinese North Koreans. For me, I think it would be more accurate if the enemy were U.S. Government forces. Why? Well, check the news:

Senators Demand the Military Lock Up of American Citizens in a “Battlefield” They Define as Being Right Outside Your Window

Some might say, "That's crazy talk, Shermlock! They're only targeting terrorists who happen to be American citizens. You know, like when some crazy dude converts to Islam and joins Al-Qaeda!" Well, you'd better check on who the Government identifies as a terrorist before you roll over and go back to sleep.

Jumping The Shark

Well now the DHS is warning us about thawing our turkeys before we deep fry them:

DHS issues Turkey fryer warning

Ok. Enough is enough. If the fucking Department of Homeland Security has the time and resources to instruct us on how to cook our turkeys, it's time to make deep and significant cuts to their funding. Butterball can warn us without using our tax dollars and feeling us up when we want to travel to see grandma at Thanksgiving.

Today's TSA Follies

Harold Rodman, TSA worker, arrested for sexual assault

In part:
The suspect, Harold Glen Rodman, 52, allegedly was wearing his uniform and displayed a badge to the victim, a 37-year-old woman.

Police arrested Rodman on Nov. 20. He is charged with aggravated sexual battery, object sexual penetration, forcible sodomy and abduction with intent to defile.
Takin' his work home with him.

Spread The Joy

Saw this:

NFL: All 16.6 Million Ticket-Holders Should Receive Additional Frisking Before Entering Stadium

And after a bit of reflection, I'm behind it 100 percent. It's a perfect opportunity for the TSA to 'leverage' what they do so well and allow another segment of the American electorate to get up close and personal with the government they continue to tolerate.

Today's Only Ones: Compliance Regardless Of Age

I have little remaining respect for the police. Reports such as this:

10-year-old boy gets ticket for not wearing seat belt properly

reflect activity that is the norm, not the exception. I'm not going to recite the mantra, "99.9% of the cops are hard-working servants of the public and are there to protect and serve." That's bullshit. Most are there to earn a paycheck for the job of maintaining order and performing revenue enhancement for the municipalities they work for. If they can get some bullying in on the side, all the better for the self-image.

Ask yourself this: If (or when) the government decides to completely throw out the Constitution and strip us of ALL our rights, whose side will the cops be on? Hmmmm?

Anyone But Lugar - Part Two

Upon seeing this I said to myself, "NO shit, Shermlock!"

Tea Partiers After Meeting Lugar: “Our Ideas of Conservatism Do Not Match His”

By teaching him a lesson of humility and NOT re-electing him to his "throne" we'll be reminding all politicians that WE control their futures.

Today's "Say it ain't so, Batman!"

Feeling safer 'cause of the "high technology" TSA scanners? Think again.

Pornoscanners trivially defeated by pancake-shaped explosives
It is very likely that a large (15-20 cm in diameter), irregularly-shaped, cm-thick pancake with beveled edges, taped to the abdomen, would be invisible to this technology, ironically, because of its large volume, since it is easily confused with normal anatomy. Thus, a third of a kilo of PETN, easily picked up in a competent pat down, would be missed by backscatter "high technology".
