Seems members of our Capital Improvement Board here in Indy get two free suite tickets to each Colts game. At that link Paul Ogden astutely asks, "My next question would be are the members of the CIB paying individual income tax on the free tickets they receive?" Hmmm. Remaking Red Dawn

The other day on facebook a friend (of a liberal persuasion) was bemoaning the remaking of Red Dawn with the enemy now being the Chinese North Koreans. For me, I think it would be more accurate if the enemy were U.S. Government forces. Why? Well, check the news:

Obligatory 9/11 Post

Some of you may not like this but, inspired by
Tam's post, I need to say this:

I'm at the same time angered, saddened, and disgusted by the 10th Anniversary 9/11 falderal.

We've given up so many of our freedoms to the Federal Government and the Department of Homeland Security in a misguided rush to display some patriotism and a need for some sense of security. I think a more honest action tomorrow would be to hand-in-hand march out to the nearest airport terminal and passively stand in line to get felt up by the the TSA in a celebration of Al-Qaeda Victory Day.

They don't know if we're texting or not. Someone could be checking the GPS app on their device. They could be forwarding past a shitty song in Pandora. A bad driver could be (legally according to this law) composing an effing e-mail.

Every day we're a little less free.

You know, I think much of the rancor against the Democrat legislators who voted for Obamacare comes from the misapprehension that they're out of touch, that they're not part of the community, that they're not our neighbors. I think this could be corrected by a nice database on the Internet listing their home addresses and home phones. Maybe pictures of their houses as well. Whaddaya think? Hmmmm?

When Republican Minority Leader John Boehner says,“. . . violence and threats are unacceptable. That’s not the American way." he ignores history. A good study of the roots of the Militia Movement, To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrant's Face: Libertarian Political Violence and the Origins of the Militia Movement by Robert Churchill shows that violence was a part of pre-Independence political discourse through the time of the Civil War and on into the 20th century.

And what of the violent anti-war protests of the 60's and 70's? Will the Left's hypocrisy hold that that was 'good' violence and as 'bad' any violent opposition to the current status quo?
