I have also been informed by an computer science/economics buddy of mine that they are thinking of dropping the Fed rate to 0 (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081214/bs_nm/us_usa_fed_3). We are now doing everything that Japan did when they were in the same situation in the early '90s, which they still aren't out of. I would expect us to do everything they DIDN'T do.
