Who are the thugs?

After watching this:

And reflecting on the behavior of the IMPD, much less the general behavior of the Only Ones I call BULLSHIT on the notion that 99.9% of the cops are good, respectable policemen. Criminal behavior by police officers as a population appears to be much greater than that of the general populace. We should fear them as much as we fear the criminals from whom they supposedly protect us.

I am shocked, shocked I say, that the police department says they acted within policy.

Cops are dirty authoritarians. I say this because I see a lot more as a paramedic than most people do.

Question authority, get a beat down. The other cops will lie to cover the ass of the one administering the beat down.

Both my parents were police officers. Both were hardworking and ethical.

So it pains me to see what I do in the news, and what I have seen on the job.

There are some really bad cops, IND is a shining example. But don't put all of them in the same bucket. There are still a few good ones out there.

Agreed with Brigid.
I train LEOs
First Responder, EMT, CPR.
I train many different departments, rural, metro, suburbia.
Most are stand up Officers.
I also train all the Minnesota State Patrol. Again stand up guys and I enjoy working with all of them.
Granted there are a few bad ones.
and anytime ome does something wrong, all are cast into the same pot.

Brigid: Knowing you leads me to conclude that your folks were fine people and fine police officers.

The problem we have these days is that it should not be acceptable to have "many" and "most" be good police officers; ALL have to be good and there should be NO tolerance for screw-up, authority-addicted officers on any force given the responsibilities that they have.

To have as many screw-ups as we've had here in Indy, there has to be a support structure of enablers. The union? The brass? Fellow officers?
