New York Times -hearts- Big Government

A Big Storm Requires Big Government

Bullshit. In situations like this I'd prefer the Armed Services to use their abilities of organization and deployment. And least we can turn them off until we need them again. You can can't turn off Big Government.

Interesting to note that a significant portion of "Big Government" in Washington DC has been sent home for the day due to the storm.

Seems to me that if a bureaucrat is identified as 'non-essential personnel' he or she should be permanently furloughed.

Yeah, I see I had a brain fart. My general thought was that you can't turn off Big Government. In fact, it sort of grows like The Blob in the movie of the same name.

I like the idea of getting rid of the non-essential.
