Seriously, I've gotten to the point where I cannot find anything at all good to say about Barry. I'm to the point where I cannot watch or listen to any of his or his wife's speeches. I will turn the channel if his face appears on my television. One might say, "Well, now you understand how some people felt about George W." Yeah, but they were wrong. My hatred of Barry is right and honorable.

He sponsored the credit card changes. I happen to think that one was a good idea.
Divemedic: I did think about that when it happened 'cause I could see some of the abuses addressed. But. . . then I thought, "As a libertarian, am I comfortable with the Government dictating such things to businesses? Nope."
And for anyone out there who may think I'm a George W. fan, I will never, ever forgive him for establishing the Department of Homeland Security. God damn you for that!
But a basic libertarian principle is the government not allowing people to steal money through fraud. The abuses of changing the terms of a credit card once you see the balance get high enough so that the debtor can't pay the card off, and thus has no choice but to pay the higher rates are certainly a bait and switch type of fraud.
I have no problem with the bank changing the terms, but those terms should only apply to money borrowed AFTER the change takes effect, not retroactively.
Dive medic: Point taken!
