Today's Hit of Hypocrisy

The Campus Center at IUPUI has a Chick-fil-A. Every once in a while this happens:

IUPUI students start petition to expel Chick-fil-A from campus

Normally a few days pass and hunger defeats outrage. I do enjoy this meme that points out the hypocrisy.

Today's Canine Antics

A good Manhattan requires a pickled mushroom as garnish. Cherries are for girly men. I pickle my own by putting white vinegar and pickling spices in a Ball jar and drop in canned mushrooms. As I was pickling my mushrooms today, one got away. Gumdrop the Goof (the one parti-colored Cocker Spaniel we have)snagged it and rather than bolting it down, savored it in front of the other three Cocker Spaniels (Pumpkin, Pie, and the visiting Tori.) I suspect canned mushrooms are the only thing this dog will not quickly swallow. Interesting.

If you can't say anything good. . .

Yesterday Roberta X offered up a complement to our President for his having the decency for refusing to name the killer of the people in the Augusta, CO movie theatre, thus denying him even more fame. I found it difficult to offer up a "me, too" in the addended comments, being compelled by my inner cynicism to think the worse of Barry. I suppose, in hindsight, that I should say something good about the President. Here it is: He almost makes me miss Bill Clinton.

Seriously, I've gotten to the point where I cannot find anything at all good to say about Barry. I'm to the point where I cannot watch or listen to any of his or his wife's speeches. I will turn the channel if his face appears on my television. One might say, "Well, now you understand how some people felt about George W." Yeah, but they were wrong. My hatred of Barry is right and honorable.

Peace Officers?

No. They're at best "law enforcement officers" who serve to confiscate money from citizens to fill the coffers of local and state government. And, of course, maintain their authority through thuggery, bullying, and general violence.

Inquirying Minds. . .

Talk about your record, Mr. President. And if you don't want to talk about your record for the last four years, talk about what you did in Chicago from 1992 to 2004. Tell us about those years. Really.

Credit Where Credit Is Due

Saw this:

Local Woman Constructs Solid Business Model

and immediately thought, "Bitch, you didn't do nothin'. Someone else made that happen." Channeling President Barry, of course.

Another Chance

Y'all may have seen the news about Indy bidding to host another Superbowl. Of course the last one cost more money than it made. And the taxpayers are still paying for it. I'm thinking this is like hoping for another dinner invitation from the guy who raped you on the last date figuring that this time he'll be nicer.

"South of the border. . .

. . . down Mexico way," to quote the song, the police have a history of corruption and bribery. Once a friend, while defending the character of the police here in El Notre, observed that they don't have the institution here. Ha!
