I'm Confused

"A supporter of the Human Rights Network group wears a mask of U.S President Barack Obama with a noose around his neck while holding the U.S flag during an anti-American rally in Karachi February 26, ... "

I'm confused. If Pakistani-s do this is it still racist?

Cognitive Connect

I saw this headline:

Surprisingly Effective Workouts You Can Do with a Towel in 20 Minutes or Less

and immediately thought of this:

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Yes, I stole the title of this post from Billy Corgan. But it's been my more common mood for a little over the last decade. I used to be able to tell myself, "Well, this, too, shall pass. Things overall are always getting better." I don't think so any more. The changes this country has gone through, particularly in the last three years, has left me wondering if someone stepped on a butterfly and now I'm stuck in a world that shouldn't have been.

Thought Of The Day

We've been subsidizing stupid for so long, it shouldn't be a surprise that there's an overwhelming amount of it.

Speak Ill Of The Dead

Yes, I do it from time to time. Today it's about Whitney Houston, dead at 48. I'm going to have to put up with days and days of eulogies, tributes, and memorials and endless talk of her "tragic death." Well, here's news for you: Her death wasn't tragic. Her death was stupid. She made the decision to do stupid things and died in a stupid way.

Oh, and maybe I'm the only one, but I didn't enjoy her singing. If I wanted to listen to someone yodel, I'd force myself to listen to Wanda Jackson.

Why Boing Boing Still Pisses Me Off

From time to time Boing Boing comes up with whimisical things that entertain me or in the case of my previous post, injustices that I feel need to be exposed as much as possible. But at the heart of Boing Boing is the pervasive Religion of Liberalism that embraces hypocrisy, cognitive disconnect and the parroting of talking points ad nauseam. (Something like NPR.) Here's a good example from Boing Boing:

The oldest thing in the world
The oldest living thing on Earth is a massive "meadow" of sea grass growing in the Mediterranean between Spain and Cyprus.
Wait for it. . .
It's somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 years old and reproduces by cloning itself.
Wait for it. . .
Also, it's being killed by climate change.
There it is! Never fails.

Today's Only Ones

I know some of y'all still defend the police and say that such actions are rare. I still feel that a culture of bullying, violence, and corruption is common in police forces. They do not protect and serve.

Nevada police beat the hell out of man immobilized with diabetic shock, screaming "Do not resist, motherfucker!"
